A mushroom is the fleshy fruit containing spores of a fungi, typically on a decayed food source on or in the ground. The term mushroom is used to descibe those fungi that have a stem, cap and gills. There are all sorts of fungi and this gallery illustrates some of them found in the WV Allegheny Mountains.
